Question 1 : What problem does multitouch technology solve ?

Answer      :  It's solve to control everything on the screen using only your fingers. Multitouch  gestures are easier to remember than commands because they are based on ingrained human movements that do not have to be learned. 

Question 2 : What are the advantages and disadvantages of a multitouch interface? How useful is it? Explain.


Answer       :     Advantage multitouch interface:
                       -More versatile than single touch
                       -Allow to use one or more fingers to perform special gestures
                       -Multitouch gestures are easier to remember than commands.


                         Disaadvantage multitouch interface :
                         -Fingers/ Hands is not accurate and obscures what's under it.
                         -Handled devices that rely on touch screens for input require two hands to operate.

                        
                         

Question 3Describe three business applications that would benefit from a multitouch interface

  -Touch screen displays can be used for game preparation,so that the gamers can get the games that they like.

Question 1 : Evaluate the impact of the Ipad using Porter's competitive forces model.

Answer : 
i) Traditional competitors. To convince potential users that they need a new, expensive gadget with the functionality that the Ipad provided. This was the same challenge faced by the iPhone when it was first announce. For example, laptop and notebook.

ii) New market entrants. Ipad will force many existing media businesses to change their business model significantly. It is to stop investing in their traditional delivery platform and increase their investments is the new digital platform.

iii) Customer. Apple has appealed to publisher by announcing its intention to offer a tiered pricing system, giving publishers the opportunity to participate more actively in the pricing of their books. For example, Amazon has put on lowest price to publisher to publish their e-book which makes publishers hard to gain profit. In contrast, Apple use a new way to convince their customer about pricing by offering tiered pricing system.

iv) Suppliers. Publisher want to look up which company can publish their books by putting the highest price for their e-book. Thus, Apple has this advantage because it offer better price than Amazon and also given deal to publisher adding some advantage to them if their use Apple service.

v) Substitute product or services. Customer will chose for the lowest price that firms can negotiate. In contrast of Amazon pricing and Ipad pricing, publishers has substitute Amazon's service because they have found the lowest price of publishing their book which is Ipad service.

Question 2 : What makes the Ipad a disruptive technology? Who are likely to be the winners and losers if the Ipad becomes a hit? Why?

Answer : The features and function of Ipad in publishing and media industries.The winner is Apple and the loser is other publishing media such as Amazon. This is because by using technology in Ipad,Apple as appealed to publishers by announcing its intention to offer tiered pricing system.

Question 3 : Describe the effects that the iPad is likely to have on the business models of Apple, content creators and distributions.

Answer : The effect is iPad will have high quality content from all the types of media offers by Apple. iPad become the chosen device by mostly content creators to distribute their content because Apple has set a tiered pricing system.

Question 1: What are RocketTheme's business process, and what information systems can be used  to support these processes?

Answer : RocketTheme sells digital products in the form of templates and extensions that are used with the open source content management system (CMS) Joomla - allows anyone with at least a limited knowledge or internet technologies to start a website. Joomla puts advanced web technology at the fingertips of "newbies".

Question 2 : How can these systems improve RocketTheme's business performances?

Answer : RocketTheme sells its products directly to its customers though a membership system. marketing efforts are targeted at the online community. To attract new customers, RocketTheme uses an affiliate system and makes use of Google ads. They also try to ensure that we provided a very well-rounded selection of designs, not just the same old "business" templates every month.

Question 3: What is RocketTheme's business-critical information system?

Answer : Miller focuses on energizing his staff and creating a common goal for his employees-the success of the RocketTheme template club. The organization can be characterized as flat and non bureaucratic. Thus, the organization structure is fluid and flexible. the organization retains specialists from different parts of the world, highly skilled in their respective fields.

Question 4: What information system could possibly improve RocketTheme's business performance?

Answer : RocketTheme presently has a user base of well over 40,000 registered members. It stands out because of its international orientation  and collaboration. Team responsible for support and development of a new templates and extension is an international team, consisting of members from around the globe. All communication and information exchange between the employees of RocketTheme and its customer is preformed using the electronic superhighway.
